It is crucial to reply to swap booking enquiries promptly. This is basic courtesy. Unfortunately, some members fail to respond when they don't wish to accept a request. According to our membership agreement and code of practice (clause 12.4), failing to reply may lead to removal from the system and loss of accumulated credits.
All swap applications must be declared upfront. You cannot make arrangements or check availability first and then inform the host that you want a swap. This practice is seen as dishonest and is often rejected. Note that even if the host has a vacancy, they are not required to accept a swap.
No charges should be made for cleaning or other services. Accommodation Swap is a cash-free arrangement, except for meals and activities, which can be negotiated and paid for with additional credits or cash.
Hosts should provide the same quality of service as they would for paying guests. Remember, credits are valuable, worth between R900.00 and R2000.00 each. We expect hosts to offer the best experience possible, just as you would expect when you are the guest.
If you sponsor someone using your credits, you are responsible for choosing wisely. Ensure they understand and follow Accom Swap expectations and protocols. You will be held accountable for any misconduct or legal issues caused by your sponsored guest. As one member put it, "This is a prestige website." Maintaining positive relationships with fellow members is crucial, and one ill-mannered individual can ruin this in an instant.
