DESCRIPTION

Peak View Cottage is situated on a family owned timber farm in the heart of the Champagne Valley area of the Central Drakensberg, proclaimed a World Heritage Site in 2000

The self - catering cottage is the ideal "getaway" for a family of two adults and two children or "hideaway" for a honeymoon couple or to celebrate an anniversary. The cottage has one bedroom and a living room with extra beds and a central Jetmaster fireplace for the cold winter nights, The shower and, toilet have access from the bedroom as well as the living room.TV, one Mini -stove (2 plate plus small oven), kettle, toaster, fridge, electric frying pan and microwave.

There is also a Weber Braai, safe under cover parking, a swimming pool and the security is excellent.

Peak View Cottage has a magnificent view of Cathkin Peak and Champagne Castle and is close to all the central Berg hotels, hiking trails in the Drakensberg Park (15km), restaurants, birding, fishing, river rafting , sporting, mountain biking and horse riding facilities.

Peak View Cottage is the ideal place to relax and unwind, or to be used as a base to explore the Drakensberg & visit some of the tourist attractions close by or attend conferences or weddings. Situated 4.5km from Champagne Sports Resort and 1.5km, from the Nest Resort, world renowned for Bowls

TOURIST ATTRACTIONS

These include, Falconridge Bird of Prey Centre, Drakenberg Canopy Tours, Thokozisa, Drakensberg Boys' Choir School, KwaZulu Weavers, Winterton Museum, the Spioenkop Battlefield., Four Rivers Adventures, and hiking trails in the Drakensberg Mountains which have recently been proclaimed a World Heritage Site. The road is tarred all the way and is 1,5km from The Nest Mountain Resort and 4.5km from Champagne Sports &10km from Drakensberg Sun. Golf at Champagne Sports Resort and Monks Cowl Country Club.

From Gauteng, take N3, turn into Harrismith, and take N5 Bethlehem/Bloemfontein for about 3kms take the alternative route to Durban, down Oliviershoek pass (R74), and Bergville through to Winterton. In Winterton at Engen take the R600 Central Berg Resorts Road, travel for 13km and then cross over the 4 way stop at Thokozisa.

From Thokozisa travel, for another 8,5km to Nest Hotel. Take the left turn 200m after the Nest Hotel (D275). and travel for 1, 1 km up the tarred road towards Ardmore. (D275). Peak View Cottage is on the RIGHT. Turn in right at gate next to green water tank and white stones on ground. Hoot at gate or press gate bell. If you reach gravel you have gone too far. From Durban N3 take exit 194 after Estcourt Ultra - City and then go for 20km to Winterton, turn left at Engen Garage in Winterton and follow the R600.to Thokozisa crossroads 13 km from Winterton. Follow instructions from Thokozisa as above.
