Hallo Mike - I think I did mention this previously. I am one of those members who accept as many bookings as I have enquiries for, even in peak season. The only condition is that I must have a room available when the enquiry is made.
I will never be able to use all my credits. However, I've been making my points work for me.
I deal with travel agencies a lot and in the past I've always sent them a complimentary voucher for a weekend at Villa Le View. Unfortunately the consultants cannot always afford to come to Durban so I am now offering them a weekend close to where they are situated. I use Accommodation Swap credits to book them in for a weekend away. This way I get back MUCH MORE in value than what I've "spent" by hosting members.
I just want to say once again that Accommodation Swap is the best system I've ever joined.
I have holiday club points and at one stage we had normal time share. We even had a house in Marloth Park that we used for family holidays. NONE of them has given me better value for money than Accommodation Swap.

I have never regretted my decision to join Accom Swap approximately 10 years ago. From the onset it has proved to be one of the best decisions I have made since starting my guesthouse 13 years ago. The fact that I can make a spur of the moment decision to slip away for 2 or 3 nights to recoup is fantastic. My staff, some friends and family are also most grateful when given the opportunity to take advantage of perk :-)
The guesthouses, lodges etc have been amazing establishments and some "not so amazing" but the host/ess have always very obliging to assist me. Changing notes, ideas and relating experiences are a lark ;-))

I can highly recommend Accommdationswap. I think I have been a member for about 12 years.Not only has it saved me so much money on accommodation over the years but I have met some amazing guest house owners who I now call friends.We often swap with each other and share info and stories.
My children play Provincial/SA badminton and water polo and have had to travel all over SA for tournaments, which can be a very costly exercise.Having accommodation credits to use for their accommodation has been a huge plus.
I also use my points to reward my staff short holidays as a bonus for work well done.Swapping introduces them to other guesthouses practices and they come back motivated and rested.
My friends and family have also benefited with the odd swap here and there and of course every now and again I need to get away as well.
If you are a guest house owner and you are not a member, I truly cannot understand why.You are missing out on great getaway times. We all need them.So join and plan some fun trips!! Life is not all about working.You need to create something to look forward to every now and then.So plan a road trip and make some wonderful memories while meeting great new guest house owners.

I have been a member for about 6 years now and have had "free" 3, 4 and 5 star accommodation across South Africa to the value of about R90 000 and have met many very friendly and interesting people in the industry.
Accommodation Swap is well run and there are no catches I promise! It is a genuiune win/win situation for all - you fill empty beds during quiet times and stay at quality accommodation in return - at a minimal cost to join which includes some complimentary nights to get you going, and a very small annual subscription.

Etienne and I decided on the spur of the moment to travel down to Cape Town to meet our new born niece. Within a few hours I managed to secure accommodation in Stormsriver, Knysna, Albertinia, on a farm between Barrydale and Montegue ? a wonderful trip, meeting the owners of accommodation swap venues and enjoying our most beautiful country!
We always fly to Cape Town and decided that travelling has some benefits ? can load a few boxes of wine!
