The long term goal of Accommodation Swap is to have members from all over the world participating at two levels:

  1. swapping with members within their own country
  2. swapping with members internationally

It takes time to establish a solid working base within a country and for members to have a good variety of establishments to choose from.It took six years to get where we are in South Africa and we can't see that the pattern will change from country to country.

Our vision is to open Accommodation Swap to all countries and whilst the membership grows we will have one International Table listing all members from countries other than South Africa. ( see "international participants" )

We will monitor the progress and when there are enough members in a particular country we will move them over to a "dedicated" format similar to that for South Africa ( to view South African participants click here "South African participants" )

Our offer for international membership is as follows:

  • A joining fee of R398.00 nett (you must include the exchange rate if any) This is a once of payment to cover expenses for setting up your details and web presence on our computers and service provider.
  • Normally, thereafter, there would be an annual subscription fee of a similar amount each year BUT for international membership this will be waived until the following condition is met:-
  • It will cost you absolutely zip UNTIL you actually start spending credits (not applicable if you host someone - this only applies to when you start USING credits) In this way we hope you will be encouraged to stay on board as Accommodation Swap grows internationally and within your own country.

The scheme works exactly the same for international swapping as for local swapping so please acquaint yourself with how it works by reading "how it works" and "Questions and Answers" pages. If you would like to join first go to the "agreement and code of practice" page (that HAS to be read and agreed to when registering and then go to our "registration form", fill it in and click on "submit". You can be up and running within 8hrs.!!!
